Zone 5 PENS Bulletin -
05-13-2010
Once again, Investigators at Precinct
Five need your assistance regarding an ongoing investigation. We
have recently received multiple reports of Entering Autos that have
been occurring in the area of Brookstone and Camden Pointe
Subdivisions. Various items have been taken from the vehicles in the
late evening to early morning hours.
Please remember to lock all doors to your vehicle and remove all
valuables to include GPS units, laptops, purses and wallets before
calling it a night.
Also, please keep a lookout for your neighbors and pay close
attention to any suspicious activity and / or vehicles in your
neighborhood. Get tag numbers and vehicle descriptions when possible
but do not engage a suspect during a crime in progress. ALWAYS call
the POLICE – 911. We need your help.

Share your opinion on how to keep Cobb beautiful
Keep Cobb Beautiful needs public input on important
environmental issues. Whether it's recycling, greenspace,
litter prevention or something else, KCB is seeking your
thoughts and ideas. A quick online survey will help the
organization serve the needs of Cobb's residents better. To
participate, visit
cobbcounty.org/KCB.
Property
owners can register burglar alarms without penalty
Cobb County residents and business owners who have
unregistered burglar alarms can still register them without
penalty. However, if an unregistered alarm goes off before
then, its owner can face fines and penalties under the
county ordinance. The alarm ordinance went into effect in
January and about 33,000 people have registered so far, but
there are an estimated 45,000 burglar alarm users in Cobb,
according to officials. Motor vehicle or boat alarms and
alarms designed to call medical personnel do not have to be
registered. Registration gives police contact information in
case of emergency. Registration is free and can be completed
online at
cobbpolice.com. For more information, call the False
Alarm Reduction Unit at 770-528-3819.
Register
your phone number for Code RED
emergency notification
Cobb County is launching a reverse-911 system called CodeRED
high-speed notification solution. On Monday, Feb. 1, the
system called every land line registered in the county
encouraging people to register by visiting
cobbcounty.org/911
and clicking on the CodeRED
Reverse 911 Registration tab. The system affords the ability
to communicate time sensitive messages to targeted areas or
the entire county. This will be especially helpful in
delivering important information during an emergency.
The system is only as effective as the telephone number
database supporting it, so residents are strongly encouraged
to add their home and mobile phone numbers. All businesses
should register, as well as residents who have unlisted
numbers, changed their phone numbers or addresses within the
past year or those who use cell phones or VoIP phones as
their primary numbers. It is important to register cell
phone numbers as well. The information provided will only be
used for emergency notification purposes. To register, visit
cobbcounty.org/911.
